Small Classes. Big Impact. Lifelong Values.
Lake City Academy provides a values-based education in a caring, close-knit environment. With small class sizes, dedicated teachers, and opportunities to grow in and out of the classroom, students thrive academically, socially, and spiritually.
Serving Pre-K through 8th — and Beyond
At Lake City Academy, we’re committed to helping students grow in character, confidence, and curiosity. Our mission is to nurture a love for learning, encourage kindness and service, and prepare students to think critically and live with purpose.
Since 1909, families in Coeur d’Alene have trusted LCA for its close-knit environment, dedicated teachers, and values-based approach. Walk through our halls and you’ll feel it — the care, the joy, and the sense of belonging.
We’re here to support your child’s journey — academically, socially, and personally — in a place where they are truly known and encouraged to thrive.
For students entering high school, we also offer a hybrid extension program in partnership with Upper Columbia Academy (UCA). This unique program allows students to:
Complete coursework remotely on the LCA campus part of the week
Spend the remaining days immersed in the high school community at UCA in Spangle, WA, staying in dorms with other students on campus
This flexible model offers families continued support from the LCA environment while easing the transition into high school. Many students who complete the hybrid offerings become full-time students at UCA once they move beyond the extension programs’ grade levels.

As an eight year former student (1st-8th grade) at LCA, this institution has well prepared me for high school both academically and spiritually: The teachers are kind, engaging, and professional; the courses are rigorous and informative, while also finding a balanced school-life environment; and the curriculum at LCA centers around the students' growth and connection with God, but maintains an objective outlook on the world around us by promoting critical thinking and individual convictions. Lake City Academy has excellently prepared me for high school and improved my stature as a human being.
